Who we are.

Our unique knowledge and understanding of the legal marketplace enables us to create strategic, measurable and effective legal PR campaigns.

We have a small roster of exceptional clients, and we never operate in conflict of interest. For this reason, we have very limited availability, and once we engage a client in a particular specialism, we refuse any other related work.

These days communications isn’t just about media relations, it’s also about making the best use of social media such as Twitter and LinkedIn, and creating and distributing original content, on law firm blogs and via client newsletters. We create and deliver strategic campaigns that provide our clients with the best possible reach, delivering outstanding results every time.

Victoria Moffatt, Founder

I founded LexRex, with one aim – to help lawyers communicate.

My background is high street legal practice. I completed my training contract at a small firm in Doncaster, where I ran a varied caseload including litigation, PI, wills and probate and employment. I then accepted a position with a firm in Leeds, specialising in employment law. Next up a career change, a move to Manchester and roles in agencies; managing a number of legal accounts including Hill Dickinson and latterly, DWF.

My time spent working as a lawyer provided me with a deep understanding of how the law works, how it affects us, and the jargon that can accompany the practice. My time in agencies taught me how to spot a great media angle, write eye-catching headlines, and provided me with my little black book of contacts. At LexRex I create and deliver strategic communications campaigns that work. I am also an Accredited PR Practitioner, a Chartered PR Practitioner and member of the PRCA.

Sophie Chadwick

Over the last decade, Sophie has worked in-house and at one of the North West’s leading agencies developing and delivering award-winning strategies that put – and keep – clients in the spotlight.

She’s passionate about storytelling and helping businesses uncover their hidden magic and has experience working with a wide range of sectors.

Sophie leads on a number of LexRex client accounts, utilising her B2B and consumer experience to bring a fresh and imaginative perspective to the planning and delivery of media relations within the team.

Sarah Wilde

Sarah is our brand and marketing strategist; creating and delivering effective marketing structures that unlock growth within existing markets, and drive new opportunities for clients.

With over 15 years in B2B marketing both private and public sector, Sarah has spent the past 7 years working in the legal sector in senior strategic marketing roles. As a result Sarah understands how law firms tick, and appreciates the finer details of delivery and legal practice; something we know our clients value hugely.

Claire Gamble

Claire is a trained broadcast journalist and started her career as an online journalist and copywriter before moving into PR and communications. Claire is a B2B specialist and also has experience working with consumer brands and not-for-profit organisations.

Claire loves getting to know businesses and delivering creative PR campaigns that help to meet multiple objectives, generate widespread media coverage and improve SEO and digital performance.

Kate Gannon

Kate provides administrative and business support to LexRex and its team. Her PR background means she’s the ideal support for client work as well as helping with LexRex initiatives. Kate allows the team to focus on the PR and strategic side of the business while she takes care of everything else!

Kenny Clayton

Kenny is our go to photographer for all things PR. We trust him with media stuff, headshots, website photographs and anything else requiring a camera.

One of those rare beasts, Kenny puts the most camera shy at ease and always comes away with at least one winning shot.

Ruth Phin

Ruth is our financial controller with responsibility for keeping us on track with our numbers. She’s also the first person you’ll hear from if you don’t pay us. A chartered accountant, exceptional number cruncher and thoroughly good egg, Ruth has been with LexRex since 2017.

At LexRex, I help boutique firms, high street practices and sole practitioners. We also support businesses trying to raise their profile across the legal marketplace.

When I’m not working, I like to run, and bake (not at the same time obviously) but more often than not, I can be found chatting on Twitter.

The History

LexRex was created by Victoria Moffatt, an ex-lawyer with several years experience in high-street and commercial firms, followed by time at two of the UK’s leading PR agencies. This unusual combination of legal and communications experience means we have exceptional insight into and understanding of the legal profession. From business development and client engagement, through to changes in the law and new regulations, LexRex understands the needs of and issues facing law firms in the 21st century.

The Beginning

LexRex was founded in 2012 to provide the legal services industry with specialist communications and legal PR support. LexRex is a unique proposition, as the only specialist legal communications agency outside of London. LexRex will only ever service the legal market and this focus allows us to track, analyse and understand the challenges and opportunities facing the profession, and respond to these appropriately.

LexRex doesn’t see you as another client, LexRex sees you as a trusted partner. We will work with you as an extension of your own team to help devise the best tactical and strategic communications campaign for your firm. Boutique doesn’t mean small, it means specialist.
